DESCRIPTION
Some of the most remarkable ideas begin in the most unexpected places. For the Heritage Atelier Small Seconds Stroopwafel®, inspiration came from one of the Netherlands' most familiar traditions. First baked in early nineteenth-century Gouda, the stroopwafel has become far more than a biscuit. It is a symbol of warmth, familiarity and sharing, recognised around the world by travellers and coffee lovers alike. Its distinctive lattice pattern eventually inspired a simple question: could this familiar texture become an exceptional Swiss watch dial?
Working together with Swiss high-end dial specialist GT Cadrans, Lebois & Co transformed that everyday inspiration into an exceptionally refined dial featuring a meticulously laser-engraved Stroopwafel® texture. Finished in a warm caramel tone with a delicate sandblasted surface, the dial reinterprets the familiar pattern while revealing remarkable depth and a subtle play of light. Playful in inspiration, yet uncompromising in execution, it demonstrates how exceptional craftsmanship can elevate even the most familiar ideas.
Housed in the finely finished 37.8 mm Heritage Small Seconds case and powered by the COSC-certified LC-350 automatic calibre with approximately 56 hours of power reserve, the watch embodies the philosophy of Heritage Atelier: celebrating exceptional craftsmanship through collaborations with independent artisans and specialist workshops. As one of the inaugural creations presented in The Atelier, the first room to open within La Maison Lebois, it invites collectors to discover a different side of Swiss watchmaking, where storytelling and craftsmanship meet.
The Heritage Atelier Small Seconds Stroopwafel® is not a numbered limited edition. Instead, production is organised in carefully planned production runs, each determined by the artisanal craftsmanship and specialist capacity required to create these exceptional dials.
